Setting Up Usenet In Outlook Express (DSL customers)

Open Outlook Express. Go to the Tools menu, choose Accounts.

When the Internet Accounts box opens, choose Add - News.

This will then start the Internet Connection Wizard. Type in your Display Name (this can be any name desired (e.g. your full name, your nickname, or anything else), and will appear in the From field on each outgoing mail message. Note: this name can be entered however you wish--all capitals, a mix of capitals and lowercase, etc. When you are finished typing your name, click the Next button to continue.

Next, you will need to enter the News Server Name:

The News (NNTP) server should be: news2.teksavvy.com When you are finished entering this mail server information, click the Next button:

 

You have now successfully set up this account. Click Finish:

 

Click Yes.

 

This will take a few minutes. As of 2/28/03 there were over 40,000 newsgroups

 

All done! Outlook Express should be set up for Usenet.
