Outlook 97/98 Setup

Launch Microsoft Outlook. Click on the Tools menu, and go to Services

This will open the Services window. Now, click on Add:

 
 

Choose Internet Mail, and then click OK:

 
 

This will bring up the Internet Mail Properties window. First, enter a name for the Mail Account (this is the name that will be displayed in the Services window). Then enter your name and e-mail address. Leave the Reply Address field blank. Now click on the Servers tab at the top of this window:


 

Enter the Server Information: The Outgoing Mail Server should be: smtp.teksavvy.com The Incoming Mail Server should be: mail.teksavvy.com

Also enter the Logon Information. NOTE: Use the e-mail ID as the User Name. Leave Logon using Secure Password Authentication unchecked. Now, click on the Connection tab:

 
 

Under Connection, choose I use a LAN if you are subscribed to our DSL service. For dial-up customers, choose I use a modem to access my e-mail, and choose the TekSavvy dial-up connection, if you wish Outlook to connect to TekSavvy automatically each time it is launched. Now click on the Advanced tab:

 
 

Make sure that the Leave a copy of messages on server box is unchecked. The other settings are correct as shown below. They should not need to be changed. Click OK to finish the setup:

 
 

Now, choose Exit and Log Off from the File menu as directed below. The new mail account will work when you restart Microsoft Outlook.
