Third Party Request - Voltage

TekSavvy has received a request for customer information from Voltage Pictures LLC.  Some of our customers have been notified that an IP address associated with their account has been identified as part of that request.   TekSavvy is working to provide our customers all relevant information in this request, including public notices submitted to Federal court and resources to help through the process.

Federal Court Hearing Date Set

On May 13, 2013, the Court set a hearing date of June 25, 2013 for the matter of Voltage Pictures LLC v. John Doe and Jane Doe.

Notice of Adjournment - received December 19th, 2012

On December 17, 2012, the Federal Court adjourned the motion by Voltage Pictures LLC at the request of TekSavvy.  The formal order adjourning the motion was issued by the Federal Court on December 19, 2012.  The Federal court has rescheduled the hearing for January 14th, 2013.

Motion Record - received December 11th, 2012

The Motion Record contains the evidence and argument that Voltage will be relying on for its motion to the Federal Court of Canada.  In the interests of our customers’ privacy, we have removed the list of IP addresses and associated information included in the Motion Record from the attached copy.  The Motion Record was served on us on December 11th.

The Notice of Motion serves as TekSavvy’s notice that some of our customers’ names and contact information are being requested by way of a motion to the Federal Court of Canada so that Voltage can pursue its claims against them. The Notice of Motion was served on us on December 7th.

Statement of Claim - filed November 14th, 2012

The Statement of Claim was filed November 14th, this is a general submission to the court outlining the claims against as yet unknown defendants.  TekSavvy has not been formally served with this document aswe are not a defendant in the case.  We obtained a copy from the Court as it is relevant to our customers.
